Children of the Conflict
In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.
They called it the greatest discovery in human history.
The civilizations of the galaxy call it…
At first it was whispers rolling off the tongues of traders, refugees from the outer rim. Eden Prime. Noveria. Virmire. But even the faintest of whispers can coalesce into a cacophony. An attack on the Citadel. A massive starship, dreadnaught class. It took the entire galactic fleet to take it down. A Spectre name Shepard told a tale of fire and brimstone, of a day of reckoning when the machines come for us. But he’s dead now, the mangled corpse of the Normandy found on an alien world.
Now, colonists on the outer edges of ESA space have been disappearing. Entire planets deserted, their populations evaporating like ether. The ESA has pressured the council into investigating the issue after presenting evidence that the ESA Normandy was attacked by a strange vessel.
Weary of creating another public panic, the Council has elected to bring together a covert team to investigate the ESA’s claims. You have been selected by Commander Booke of the ESA vessel Argonne to accompany the team.
*This campaign takes place during the 2 year time period that Shepard is dead in ME2
